Daily, every morning between 6 and 11 AM — about five hours door to door. Here is exactly how your morning unfolds, from the knock on your riad door to the last glass of mint tea.
Collected from your hotel or riad before dawn, then a 30-minute drive north-east to our base in the heart of the Jbilet mountains. Watch Marrakesh fall asleep behind you.
Coffee, mint tea and pastries under lantern light while the crew wakes the giant — the balloon slowly inflates against the night sky, burners roaring like dragons.
A gentle take-off, then we float where the wind takes us. Sunrise over the High Atlas, Berber villages and desert far below — up to 1,000 metres of pure silence.
Back on earth, receive your flight certificate and feast on a freshly made Berber breakfast in the caïdal tent: msemen, amlou, eggs, honey and more tea than you can drink.
Finish like a nomad — a camel ride through the famous palm grove of Marrakesh, Berber dress included, before the 4×4 brings you home by 11 AM.
Good to know
Comfortable shoes and a light jacket — the temperature aloft is the same as on the ground, but desert dawns are crisp.
The basket is stable and the views are endless. Bring your phone, GoPro or drone-free camera — you will use it constantly.
